1. In mid-June, Melissa Hortman, a Democratic representative in the MINNESOTA state legislature, was shot and killed alongside her husband Mark. State senator John Hoffman and his family were also targeted, leaving Hoffman in critical condition. The man responsible for the attacks has since been arrested and charged. The recent assassination of Hortman was another concerning instance of targeted political violence.

2. Epic Universe is the latest theme park from UNIVERSAL, which already has Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay all in Orlando. Epic Universe took $7 billion and more than five years to build, and includes attractions featuring franchises such as Mario Kart and How to Train Your Dragon. Epic Universe marks the biggest investment in theme parks so far by Comcast, Universal's parent company.
