The latest current events quiz is available to play on the YOK web app!
If you want to see how much you were keeping up with events for this past week, the latest current events quiz (weekend of March 20th) is available to play HERE on the YOK web app!
It was quite a controversial and buzzy week for YOK, with plenty of spirited debate over the new web app and the use of AI coding agents. I appreciate everyone who chimed in on the comments with their thoughts and takes. There’s definitely a lot for me to mull on.
Since the web app allows me a chance to review stats, I thought I’d go over some from this past week’s set of quizzes.
Current Events - Week of March 13th Review
Congrats to Dan Donahue, Ben, rowan ward, and Chuckles for achieving a perfect score of 300 pts! The clock on the app is held for 3 seconds before it starts counting down, so all four of the above players are speedy readers.
An additional ten people, from Ezgi to Jonny G, also went 10/10!

Khamenei (there ended up being a ton of spelling variations on this that I accepted upon review. If you got close enough with the vowels, I gave it to you. However, for the Oscars quiz, a number of people wrote in Chamalet for Chalamet. I marked that incorrect since the right syllables are in the wrong place).

Oscars 2026 Quiz — Review
The Oscars 2026 Quiz was a “spicy” one, proving to be quite challenging, as indicated. Congrats to Charlie F, Adam, and arctan for the top three scores on this one!

Answers:
The aforementioned Timothee Chalamet, whose movie Marty Supreme went home empty-handed on Oscars night.
One Battle After Another. This was a case of people missing the question prompt. The question was asking for the name of a MOVIE. Many people answered with “Chase Infiniti”, the name of the actress whose surname sounds like the symbol for “infinity.”
F1. This was a very tricky one! The vast majority of people took one look at Blackpink and put down K-Pop Demon Hunters. Not a bad guess! Alas, none of the four girls were involved in KPDH. Rose from Blackpink did, however, write and perform “Messy” for the original F1 soundtrack.
And as a reminder, if you’re interested in playing more Oscars trivia, my Buzzword collab quiz is LIVE NOW and runs through Tuesday, March 24th!
In the meantime, I’m off to check out the big pop culture release of this weekend, mentioned in Q10 of the latest current events quiz.

Man, the amount of time I just spent trying to think of an actor with a surname sounding a bit like "Lemniscate"...
