What is Yu Oughta Know?

I email out five current events questions every morning, along with hip happenings on Pop Culture Fridays. I aim to place emphasis on world affairs that you would otherwise have missed. Most of my content comes from being an avid reader of The Economist, except for the pop culture, which comes from being a consumer of all things trash. I also do a series of “Spotlight” issues on particular topics, which can range from the Olympics to the UN Intangible Heritage list to the state of reggaeton.

Who is this for?

People looking to stay on top of world affairs, expand their consciousness, study for online trivia leagues (Learned League, OQL, etc.), or keep abreast of the youth.

What Readers are Saying

“I love, love, love Yu Oughta Know! I start my day reading it, and feel like I get a fun capsule of current events and trends. It’s more diverse and dynamic than many traditional news sources. Best of all, it’s fun.” —Jonpaul G.

“Yu Oughta Know ups my awareness of people, events, and news items that are swirling in the cultural zeitgeist, but that I might not run across otherwise because I'm not in the target demographic. Also, it makes me smile.” -Michael R.

“I tried to stay informed via social media, but that's so haphazard and I ended up mostly clueless. Yu Oughta Know has given me the information I need to stay informed on new developments in both world affairs and pop culture - not to mention, I have lost count on how many questions I have gotten correct in LearnedLeague, OQL, and other trivia competitions based on reading and flash carding what i learn in the newsletter.” -Rowan W.

“Yu Oughta Know is like a magnifying glass which points out specific details of current events that I would usually overlook. And it makes great conversation in the office ... It's like bringing hot sauce to a bland dish.” -Rainer B.
